Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use DateDerech. By using the App, you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into these Terms.

2. Account Registration

To use most features of DateDerech, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Description of Service

DateDerech is a date-planning application designed for the Orthodox Jewish community. The App provides:

• Curated venue recommendations based on your community preference, relationship stage, and location
• Date itinerary planning and scheduling
• Calendar integration and reminders
• Optional partner linking for shared planning
• An AI-assisted date planner when available

Venue information, including hours, kosher certification, and descriptions, is provided for convenience and may not always be fully accurate or up to date. Always verify details such as kosher certification, hours, and availability directly with the venue before your date.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Submit false, misleading, or inappropriate venue suggestions
• Attempt to access another user's account or data
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App's security or functionality
• Use the App to harass, harm, or impersonate others
• Use automated tools such as bots or scrapers to access the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Partner Sync

If you choose to link your account with a partner using a sync code, you acknowledge that your linked partner will be able to view shared planned dates and calendar information. You can unlink at any time from the Account screen. We are not responsible for disputes between linked partners regarding shared data.

6. Venue Suggestions and User Content

If you submit a venue suggestion or other content through the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and modify that content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. You represent that any content you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge and does not infringe on any third party’s rights.

We review all venue suggestions before they are added to the App and reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any suggestion at our discretion.

7. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including but not limited to Supabase (database and authentication), Google Places (venue and location data), and Apple/Google push notification services. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services. Your use of features that rely on these services may also be subject to their respective terms.

8. AI-Assisted Planner

The AI Date Planner feature, when available, generates suggestions using an AI model. AI-generated suggestions are provided for inspiration only and may not always be accurate, appropriate, or available. We do not guarantee the AI Planner will be available at all times.

9. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen. Account deletion is permanent and immediately removes your profile data, planned dates, preferences, and partner links from our systems. This action cannot be undone.

10. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

DateDerech provides venue recommendations and planning tools as a convenience. We do not guarantee the safety, suitability, kosher status, accuracy of hours, or any other detail about recommended venues. You are solely responsible for verifying any information before relying on it, and for your own safety and conduct during any date or outing planned using the App.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DATEDERECH AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.

12. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
